Fire Life Safety Assessment
This project was for the assessment and compilation of fire life safety drawings for the Puget Sound Healthcare Systems’ American Lake and Seattle Campuses. Project provided an in-depth and detailed Safety and Fire Life Safety Assessment of all Buildings listed for the (VAPSHCS) Seattle Division and the American Lake Division. We produced one set of AS-BUILT drawings depicting Safety and Fire Protection, assess, and analyzed 100% of all known fire and smoke rated walls, barriers, partitions, ceilings, glazing’s, doors, floor decks, and shutters/sliders protecting rated openings, including basements, sub tunnels, penthouses, roof and interstitials. Our team identified, assessed, consulted applicable codes, and determined, reviewed previous fire engineering judgments, equivalences, waivers, etc., and provided one set of drawings deficiencies discovered during the SOC inspection, assessment, and Life Safety Code analysis. These drawings will be used to assist in the scope of repair for deficiencies.
Master Set of Life Safety Drawings include a legend for each set of drawings with abbreviations and symbols that clearly identify all applicable fire safety features. The Safety and Fire Life Safety assessment was accomplished using the current NFPA Codes. The Medical Center shall be evaluated utilizing all applicable NFPA codes. Notations on drawings call out occupancy type, occupancy size in square feet, code citation(s), equivalences or waivers, as well as locations of hazardous storage areas. Notations will include latest construction renovation project (project#, title, year, and the A/E of record occupancy code determination for design and construction). This project is ongoing and is expected to be completed March 2020.
