Steam Line Replacement
The project addressed approximately 534 linear feet of steam-line (supply, condensate and drip return) between building 81 and building 9. We provided all required professional engineering consultant services to include, but not limited to Architectural, Structural, Environmental (i.e., asbestos and lead), mechanical, plumbing, and storm-water drainage. Our team provided valued engineering project alternatives, with available electronic architectural utility steam-line drawings and hard copies of the most pertinent steam line construction drawings. Design included; site visits for initial design, inspection services, asbestos monitoring services, cost analysis, and construction period services. The team was responsible for the professional quality, technical accuracy, and the coordination of all designs, drawings, specifications, and other services required by this contract. Submittal included producing a complete set of drawings, design narrative/analysis, and specifications in accordance with professional standard practices and VA criteria. When life safety was impacted, we designed interim life safety measures as part of the construction documents. This design incorporated a phasing plan to allow continued use of space adjacent to the active construction areas to ensure the least disruptive construction schedule and design the subsequent work accordingly. This project was completed on time and within budget to the satisfaction of VA staff.
