GDM inc. has provided on-site construction project planning and construction management services to support construction projects at VA Southern Oregon Rehabilitation Center and Clinic, White City, Oregon for last three years. These construction projects have included, but are not limited to, the following:
• B203 Replacement
• Chapel Replacement
• B206 Replacement
• B201 New Construction
• Building 207 Replacement
• Electrical Infrastructure Project
• Mess Hall Road Parking Lot Project
During this time period, we have answered thousands of RFI’s, reviewed hundreds of shop drawing submittals, assisted the VA with millions of dollars in change orders, and acted as trusted advisers to the COR and CO. We have dealt with many angry contractors, disputes, claims, and lots of misunderstandings over the years. This experience will be beneficial to this task order. Construction Engineering and inspection services our firm has provided at the White City campus include:
• Inspection and oversight of construction to ensure procedures and materials comply with plans and specifications
• Contractor’s activity inspection and documentation
• Inspector’s daily report preparation
• Examination of quality of installations for conformity to standards and specifications
• Interpret drawings and specifications and discuss deviations
• Neat, accurate and complete records maintenance
• Active participation in project meetings
• Contractor’s schedule monitoring
• Paint/coating inspection
• Field testing of soils, concrete and asphalt, and materials sampling

- This project is relevant because it illustrates our experience providing complex planning, inspection, and management for VA Healthcare projects including horizontal and vertical construction. Project performance includes A/E design, development of multiple scenarios to value engineer construction means and methods, use of Primavera P6 for sequencing and scheduling of design and construction tasks, development of quantity surveys, conceptual cycle analysis for non-typical construction activities, estimatingnon-typicalgeneralconditions,estimatinginacriticalcareenvironment, planning crew sizes and durations based upon available workspace dictated by ongoing medical services.
