Full Job Description

GDM is an award-winning Architecture and Engineering firm with locations in Oregon, Washington, New Mexico, Arizona, Hawaii and Alaska. We are actively looking for a Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) to join our team. This self-motivated individual will work with all levels of management and staff to perform challenging mechanical and construction administration projects. Ideal candidates will have experience with a wide variety of electrical project types to include; power distribution, low-voltage and telecommunications, uninterruptable power supply, fire alarm and control panel related projects.

Daily Duties/Tasks

  • Apply electrical engineering principals and practices to assignments in related fields
  • Work with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver designs
  • Coordinate with clients and peers
  • Review all work for completeness and accuracy
  • Exchange and archive milestone submittals
  • Create project record drawings

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform preliminary and detailed analysis for the design of electrical projects
  • Prepare studies, design reports, engineering plans, and construction specifications
  • Evaluate alternative approaches and address technical inquiries
  • Resolve complex electrical based issues that may arise in design
  • Provide engineering support for construction projects on an as-needed basis
  • Organize, draft and coordinate production of reports for technical consistency
  • Stay informed of evolving standards and software innovations

Experience

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering (Preference given to advanced degrees)
  • 5 to 10 yrs of experience working on electrical engineering projects
  • Existing professional registration or ability to obtain within 3-6 months
  • Autodesk REVIT knowledge
